s slick as Torontonians are about all things food- and-health-related, when it comes to salad, we’re just a bunch of bumpkins.
Lettuce Eatery founder Matthew Corrin is determined to change all that, as this week sees the launch of his 3rd Lettuce Eatery location and the launch of Catering Division.
This location is in the heart of Toronto’s Fashion District at Spadina & Richmond, its 3rd location in less than 15 months. “We’re on a roll,” notes Corrin. “Our mission is to change the way Torontonian’s can enjoy healthy and fresh food in a quick-service and lively setting”.
The stylish restaurant offers up custom-designed salads and sandwiches made from more than seventy ingredients, including four types of lettuce, twenty dressings, and an extraordinary variety of fresh vegetables, grilled meats and cheeses. - R.B.

The mediterranean salad I ordered fulfilled the name of the resturant... Lettuce eatery... cause thats literally all I tasted in the salad... For $9.00 you can bet I was pissed...

I was disgusted by the service I received at the lettuce eatery (with owner, Matthew Corrin standing by). I have been a loyal customer for over a year spending at least $10 per visit at a min. of twice a week. The last time my salad was completely wrong but I had to get to a meeting and did not have time to bring it back. The time before that I was lectured in front of everyone in line by the Director of Operations (he was very proud to tell me his title) on the portions of broccoli I should have been receiving previously. He went on about how "the staff had been overindulging clients for too long now" - really embarrassing and totally short sighted when you consider the cost of a little broccoli floret. Then yesterday I thought I would give them one last chance (not sure why). I ordered a "custom salad" with half dressing (an option on the menu) but asked for some extra on the side just in case. To my surprise, I was told that I would have to pay extra. When I questioned why I would have to pay extra for dressing I was told that I was paying for the little plastic cup more than the dressing!!! I could have made a stink in front of other patrons but I did not. Their policy is completely ridiculous and again, incredibly short sighted. I will not be coming back to the lettuce eatery and have told many people about my negative experience. If I had the time I would have returned with my own cup to collect the rest of my dressing. With all the choices out there and the high cost of the salads at lettuce, they should really take a good look at the way they are runnning their business. There is a great place in commerce court that has better salads and they were more than willing to give you dressing!!!

I'm so not impressed with Lettuce Eatery! A recent visit to the over-priced, over-hiped chain revealed a ton of health code violations, ingredients mostly out of can and if you ask about the dressing, they lie and say they are homemade-while they are pouring them out of the Hellman's container!!! Sure it looks slick, but look alittle closer and check out the chicken, gross! The soup thing they do is disgusting! And they toss the salad in bags??? ClassY?

They are the greatest thing! Some people think $9.00 is too much for "lettuce", but that's how much you'd have to pay for a lunch in downtown TO anyway, but with their HUGE salad you feel completely satisfied (some say they can't finish them) without the sluggish-ate too much at lunch feeling you get with a pasta lunch, for example, around mid afternoon. If one has to find a negative - service is very friendly but cashing out could be faster and the Yonge/Bloor location needs more seating. I want to buy shares in this company!!! I have been recommending them to everyone since I tried them out.
