ee is Toronto’s legendary chef, Susur’s second venture, offering his patrons a less expensive and more casual dining experience than his fine-dining counter-restaurant, Susur, which is situated side-by-side to Lee’s. Serving a tapas style menu, I would say the duck is a must-order on the menu. The gourmet style food is small, intended for communal sharing. Hip, elegant yet informal. - A.C.

8 Reader Reviews | Have to say, been to Lee many times (over 20) and have just got back from a meal there and am shocked at the difference in atmosphere. The service was terrible, the food atrocious and even worse when we commented about it were made to believe that we were the problem! In a service related field, I am shocked that the "manager" David was less attentive to client feedback! Shocking really, this was my favourite restaurant in the city and looks like we are going to have to find a new regular place. Another classic example of a restaurant that was once stellar slip drastically when the owner is magically missing - interesting!!

1) Food is way over salted!
2) Tables are seated too close together!
3) Too dark - can't see what you're eating!
Sorry, but I would not go back!

Cheaper than Susur but still way overpriced with average-at-best food. Good service but I was quite disappointed.

Upon entering the restaurant, you might notice the graphic prints on the walls, and the swanky set up. The bar set-up at the back of the room was an interesting deviation from the norm of tables/chairs. But you might want to think about a reservation since the few tables set up indoors, plus their small sidewalk space don't really add up to a lot.
My group of 5 had reservations so we didn't have to wait. We had enough people to try quite a bit of the menu, which is varied, but not very extensive. Don't worry about selection on their drink menu though. Everyone ordered 2 to 3 dishes to be shared. And we learned from the server that they do try to update their menu seasonally to reflect the ingredients available.
The portions were bigger than expected, which was pleasant, but some of the dishes were a hit and miss for us. Generally, everything was quite good. But for some of the prices we were paying, we were hoping for "really good" at the minimum. However, everyone should try the delicious cod they have on their menu. Japanese style with miso, I believe. The fish was very tender, and practically melted in the mouth, and packed a good punch of flavour! One of the beef dishes was a bit on the salty and dry side. But I think our overall impression was that the food was rather good.
It might not be priced for everyone's daily meals, but if you want to spoil yourself a little, I would totally recommend this restaurant.

Great place, the vibe is very much like a trendy New York Restaurant. Tables are very close together, but gives you an opportunity to meet new friends.
The food is really good and comes out with a reasonable time. Service is good for a busy/crowded Friday night.
