ittle Korea isn’t lacking for barbecue joints where diners can grill their own plates of marinated meat over portable charcoal pots. But Yonge and Bloor? With its quasi-industrial décor, stylish chairs, and friendly service, the Korean Grill House is a welcome addition to Yonge & Bloor (taking over the old The Stag Shop).
The menu, which is the same as at the Queen Street location, covers all the basics, from pajun and bibimbap. The main attraction, though, is the black-Angus beef—the sirloin, the skirt, and especially the short ribs—that you grill, then wrap with rice in lettuce with sweet pepper paste.
Eating Korean barbecue is as fun as it's filling, because you actually cook the marinated meats over your table's charcoal grill, a difficult business after a night of carousing but a pleasant chore nonetheless. A dozen pickled, grated, garlicky condiments are provided to jazz up the already tasty fillets, and if you're still hungry post-BBQ, the menu offers whole grilled fish, rice bowls, and hearty soups to tide you over until the 2 o'clock closing time. - R.B. |

Best value for food and fun hands down!! Service is always pretty good and they never rush you to leave which is a big selling point. Try the ox tongue it's pretty good!! When the place is packed the ambiance is great as everyone's talking and having a good time but even with just a small group of friends this place is awesome. PERFECT for a first date :-) I've been here countless times and always come back, 100% recommended. BTW you can order more sides for free... i eat at least 10 of those dishes of the spicy shoots.

I'm a 23 year old (white/english) student from Trent University and ever since I was a little girl my dad (French Canadian) has bought Kimchi a great spicy Korean cabbage, so while I was waiting for the bus in TO I stumbled up this Korean Resturant and to my amazement they were having an all you can eat lunch buffet which included KIMCHI and I was in HEAVEN. All week I have been having a craving for this kick-ass resturant and I plan on going back next week and piggying out on as much kimchi as possible, this place is awesome! and the food is AMAZING!!! If your in the TO area and you have a craving for amazing korean food then I recommend you go there. Its a good price especially for students on a budget :o) See you all in a few days!!!

Wonderful Experience!!!
The korean grill house is one of the best option for all-u-can eat. It's is easy to find and there are a lot of location(dowtown,
scarborough and markham), for just $8.99(lunch and nite-owl special), $12.95(regular, basic or normal option) or $15.95 ("extra" option, everything plus lamb and shrimp). Rice, soup, side dishes and of course, the main meats and seafood u can order any times u want.
It is a wonderful experience if u havent cooked or bbq before, going there at least u will learn when the meat is done or burn. sometime is a lot of work and need a lot of time to do bbq at home, or when the weather is bad (raining or snowing) u have the option of bbq there.
I have read the last 2 comments about people complaining about the services there, in my opinion is not true and most of the time is their(customers) mistake, but they dont wanna assume or accept that and put all the fault in the restaurant. the first thing when any one go inte a restaurant is to receive the menu, and the menu is for us to read it and know what it offer and look at the price, the reason i know that, is because it is one of my favorite restaurant and i go there 2 times a week, and i have tried all the menu. Their waiters and waitresses are very nice and polite, sometimes when they hire new people, mistakes begin to show up. there was once when i was taking dinner there, one waitress drop a entire boil of soup on me, on that moment i was really really up set, but after i look at the waitress, i realise she was new and i knew that was a accident, so i accetp her apologize. the only thing i know is that mistake and accident appear is everywhere and at any rest, but "people will treat u as the same way u treat them", if people are nice to others, others are nice to them, if they judge others, other will judge them in the same way, and if they smile to others, other will smile to them, as simple as that is life, dont u think

If you wish to take advantage of their night owl special be careful that you specify the price. The waiter upsells the 2nd item on the menu (added beef ribs and ox tongue) without your consent unless you specifically request the cheapest one.
The difference is only $4, but this is a dishonest business practice. The waiters were also rude when questioned about this discrepancy.
It ruined an otherwise pleasant evening out.
We're not going back there again. If you feel the urge to have a nice korean barbeque dinner, be aware that this restaurant has a devious tactic for unsuspecting customers looking for a bargain evening meal.
Most people would just grimace and pay the difference. We chose to let others be aware of what happened to us.

The wait and the food was good up to the point when the waitress came to clean the table and dropped the spoon right on me. I've got huge drops of orange oil stains on my sleeves and pants and the waitress just disappeared into the kitchen, never to be seen even when I left. I will never ever go back to such restaurant with no service at all. Consider yourself warned!

I first sampled the Korean Grill House one evening after a particularly gruelling day of class. It’s amazing how much more noticeable your hunger becomes after listening to a parade of professors ramble on in three hour lectures. Skipping lunch and subsisting on bad coffee and a stale bagel from seven hours earlier does not help matters much either.
Luckily I happened to hear the words "Korean Grill House" and more importantly all you-can-eat barbeque mentioned, and before long I was onboard for another after class dinner.
With a sleek industrial design and fashionable décor, the atmosphere of Korean Grill House was upscale and inviting even if it is hardly traditional Korean fare. I’m a sucker for aesthetics though and as a health inspector in training the environs helped dismiss my lingering fears that I might be in for a repeat of the infamous Toronto Chinese Mall incident.
Each table came equipped for do-it-yourself barbequing with a large gas powered grill dominating the centre of the table. To my relief, the tables were large enough that the all important standard complement of spices and condiments had not been sacrificed.
Considering my ravenous appetite I decided to forgo drinks (although I noticed a nice selection of domestic and imported brews) and went straight for the kill, the kill of the all-you-can-eat variety that is. Service was quick and before long our grill was a sizzling with the first of several entrees that would form the seemingly endless parade of food that was to follow.
The all-you-can-eat menu consisted of pork, beef, chicken, ribs, ox tongue, ox liver, salmon, squid, and some other fish filets that I was unable to successfully identify. I opted to forgo the ox tongue and ox liver respectively as just a tad too exotic for my tastes.
The meat on the whole was delicious and perfectly seasoned. The beef was the star of the show and was tender enough to, dare I say, melt in my mouth. The chicken was no slouch either and was marinated in a flavourful barbeque sauce. The only notable disappointment was the squid. I personally don’t enjoy the sensation of chewing leather but as the expression goes, to each their own.
The meat is served in thin slices and although this may disappoint some it is no doubt a necessary precaution designed to prevent customers from poisoning themselves by undercooking their raw meat. Korean Grill House can presumably do without the lawsuits.
Overall, I found Korean Grill House to be an enjoyable experience and considering the dangerously unhealthy amount of food I consumed, the price tag of fifteen dollars with tax was quite reasonable. So if ever you find yourself downtown one evening after a long boring day of class ravenous with hunger, I highly recommend the Korean Grill House.
