While scouring the pre-theatre King West dining scene, you have surely seen a massive cow dangling above the awning of what you may or may not have know is Kit Kat. As a child, that was the only confirmation that cows really did fly when my mother would respond to my numerous demands with the rhetorical question “Do cows fly?”. Notable celebs have also been enticed by the cow, including Keith Richards (I would LOVE to know what was going through his mind at the time), Ron Howard and Donald Sutherland. Though this resto serves the rich and famous, you don’t need a Hollywood bank account to afford their Italian menu (as if the red and white check table cloths don’t give it away). While the space may appear small, it stretches right to the back, including a summer patio for those dining al fresco. - E.J.

Been there today with a friend. Nice place, not a great service though. Half of the things we wanted were not available. I found seafood to be a bit overpriced, however, my pasta was OK. Good choice of wines.

It would be all just an OK experience, if in the end we did not see 2 cockroaches running there (or may be it was just one fast one). One was spotted on a wall, and later there was one on a table across from us (fortunately, with no people sitting there). We have already finished our dinners, but I could feel my meal moving up from my stomach. People from another table have noticed the insect on the table too, and notified the waitress, who stepped on the poor thing and threw it out with a napkin. With all the respect, I didn't notice her going away to wash her hands.

So, would I go there again? No. I only recommend it to people on a diet. Once you see that thing running around, you will not eat for a long time..

Good food but a little pricy and uncomfortable on the bench seats in the back.
Also my friend took the Alberto pasta (3cheeses) and she got badly sick from it.

Absolutely AMAZING!! Hands down one of the best meals I have ever eaten. Everything tasted fresh and homemade, never had anything like it and I've eaten at a ton of Italian restaurants across the city.
    Highly reccomended!!

Great Restaurant. Not overpriced and great food. I started things off with a ceviche (or carpaccio, I always get them confused) and I highly recommend. Now, for an entree, I always hesitate to order pasta at a restaurant because, well... it is afterall just pasta. However, I quite enjoyed my seafood penne. The best part was by far the itallian wine that the waiter recommended. I enjoyed too much of it to remember the name, but it was yummy and I do remember asking if it was available at our Monopolizing LCBO (I'm not a fan).

I highly recommend for a unpretentious and delicious meal.

I just wanted to respond to Bianca and her friend's review. What do you expect when you bring such a huge party to a tiny restaurant? Don't base your review on shortage of seating, you should have gone elsewhere.

Other than that, the food was great, the servers were pleasant, and i would definitely return to Kit Kat.

    Where do I begin.....
...This was by far the WORST "Italian" restaurant I have ever had the unfortunate chance to eat at. Firstly, our group of twelve people were split up; eight were sat at a longer table and four of us were sat 3 booths away. That was understandable only because we did not make any reservations and decided to eat there out of pure desperation and starvation because our original destination Hey Lucy was extremely full with a line up to get in.
The food was expensive, portions were small and it tasted and smelled repulsive--like vomit to be exact. The service started out ok, but the waitress mixed up an order that was for someone with a food allergy which we had discussed with her in length.
It is a crime that this restaurant passes itself off as "Italian" because the food is atrocious and in no way resembles REAL Italian cooking. Sauces were jarred (tasted like Ragu), "Italian Sausage" tasted like hot dogs, and "Alfredo Sauce" tasted like a Lipton's powdered mix. Take this as a warning to you all who are considering eating here.

    Regretfully,
    Bianca and Michele

I used to eat there for the last 10 years with my wife fairly often.

Service was never great, but this last time was unbearably rude. We didn't even wait to be seated before we left. The waitress was rude and condescending to both myself and my wife and we recieved no apology or assistance from the host .

We've brought no small amount of business there eating together and bringing groups of our friends there for parties in the past. Never again.

There are better restaurants with better servers who appreciate customers and the repeat business that they bring. You people could learn a thing or two about training your staff in manners.
