AMcafe has taken over a location that has cemented a presence in the Jarvis and Carlton area longer than any other business (arguably even longer than the world’s oldest profession has been in the ‘hood). This cute dining spot serves delicious café fare and attracts the local intelligista from the neighbourhood and beyond. Now Open. -MBO

2 Reader Reviews | Lately I have been finding myself in this neighbourhood (for personal reasons) and we have gravitated to JAMcafe because we love the food (who knew that you could get Elk in Cabbagetown? Or that you could do such freakishly good things with chicken legs?) But the two things that stand out are the wine selections and the fact the chef is more than happy to intelligently discuss wine and food with you. Every time I leave there I not only had a good meal and good time, but I have learned an interesting tidbit about a great wine. And when I discovered there are a few free parking spots out back..well, that was just a bonus. I just keep going back.
