A marriage of opposites, Hungry Thai daringly places side-by-side two very unlikely cuisines. The menu is all about contrasting tastes, and not fusion (can you imagine, mango schnitzel?). Nay, the plates are all respectfully divided between the east, and, er…further east. The Hungarian is laden with hearty breaded cutlets and fried cheese, while the Thai is rife with tofu and grilled shrimp. All served up in a darkened tavern festering in kitsch, Hungary Thai functions well as a tryst between polar traditions.

Good location, ample use of space.

Servers were elderly and unfriendly. I suspected both were the owners or relatives thereof. Our waitress was kind enough to take our orders quickly and deliver the food timely, however I was less than thrilled at the cost vs quality.

$2.00 per per can of soda, 3 ordered. $6
A pad thai that tasted more like terriyaki chicken with noodles. $12
Spring rollers were decent. (2 for $4.00)
Cucumber Salad with paprika dumped, rather than sprinkled on top. $4
A very bland chicken schnitzel $10

All in all a $36.00 tab for lunch for 2.

Taxes came to $6.52. 18% Tax.

The waitress mumbled an embarrassed, forced apology and knocked $1.00 off but my gut tells me she knew. So check your receipts before cashing out.

I will not go there again.
