ero Certified Burgers' Queen West outpost has something its cramped downtown siblings lack: space. Taking over what was the old MissBehav'N (and Boom Boom Room way back in the day) this Heroic location is well situated to capture Queen West’s young and ravenous. What is certified about Hero’s is the 100% pure Angus Beef (vs. the cardboard of fast food chains) that comes on a 4oz to 8oz patty (if you’re looking for a heart attack). Custom toppings - 5 cheese sauce, Canadian Cheddar, Smoked Provolone, Avocado or Olive Spread, Coleslaw, Sauteed Mushrooms, Baked and Seasoned Zucchini or Eggplant - are mildly inventive but pretty much are on all gourmet sandwiches in Toronto so it’s a natural transition they start popping up on burgers too. At least the hipsters on Queen West have an alternative to the McDonalds down the street at Spadina. - E.J.

3 Reader Reviews | The "perfect burger" hunt continues and this the third or fourth burger joint I have tried so far. Family friendly and owned, the burger was pretty good. Decent toppings, although not as well-done as ordered, the hamburger patty was great, the bun huge. The other options looked good and the cooks were over-worked.

Despite the market hype of a seriously-made, all-beef Angus burger, disappointment was my immediate reaction to the lack of taste behind the oddly textured patty. No complaints on the tasty and fresh bun, though the special hero sauce wasn't quite up my alley.
The fries are not bad at all, fresh tasting and not too greasy at all - a nice change from fast food fries.
All in all, the highly priced experience was worth trying once, but I do not expect to return anytime soon.
