hen it comes to enhancing size, mirrors provide excellent trickery to unsuspecting patrons looking for a tiny restaurant to enjoy a delicious steak dinner. From the outside, Bigliardis looks like a tiny secret, despite the tacky maroon awning (just because the awning was original in 1977, doesn’t mean it’s now classified as vintage cool). Plenty of beef is on the menu, yet influence on the menu of the restaurant owners’ Italian heritage is evident with the array of pasta dishes also available. The restaurant’s décor is heavy on the dark wood paneling – quite dated for the year 2007 though I don’t doubt it was also very dated when this place opened 30 years ago. However, Bigliardis does have a loyal following as a result, who appreciate the classic dinners. If you’re of the younger crowd looking for more modern fare, head down to King Street. - E.J.
