    Review by Martiniboys.com
What was once Shag Lounge- a sweet, little swank lounge without a sign - is now a transparent, tranny bar, with no sign of life whatsoever. Bewildering, to be sure, as this prime location at the centre of all things gay could and should have sprouted a more innovative establishment than a barren barroom with a wooden box for a stage (George’s Play, one assumes), which features drag queens performing their business.

And that business is what plunges this George’s Play business into even more pathetic waters: renditions of “Let’s talk dirty to the animals,” and “These boots are made for walking,” performed - so badly lip-synched, the poor bitch continues to mouth words long after the song expires - by overweight, senior citizens in pink chiffon dresses.

Now, if that does it for you - you’re in there; no line up, rsvp’ing or velvet ropes at this one. At any given time, you’ll have the place to yourself and a few dozen other like-minded folks that also ‘do it for them.’ You’ll make friends.

Martinis and beer seem to be most popular here, and we highly regarded their Cosmo, which seemed to come with most of the bottle of vodka in it. No food. Just alcohol, dirty washrooms and overweight, senior citizens in pink chiffon dresses. How about that? - S.L.

Come on guys, lighten up a little and change your attitude.
Geez if you go into these places with a poor attitude what do you expect.
Hey, if you don't like what you see, then simply leave!
There are some nice "gurls" here, and yeah some oddballs too, but to each his own.
The idea is to have a good time....duh....remember, and attitude is where it begins.
Good luck to Georges play, I have been there a few times, and just went with the flow. Saturday nite, Church st is busy....everywhere!

I have never been to a place where I was asked to leave because I was not drinking. I had only been there for 30 minutes and was planning on buying a drink, when I went out for a smoke. I tried to get back in, and the bouncer did not allow my entry. I asked to speak to the manager and he told me that this policy is true. And he did not let me in. Why are these guys allowed to be open. This is an outrage. I am going to put the word out about this place, and beleive me, I can assure you that this place will not be around in 6 months.

The place is a hole...dont understand why its so busy on the weekend. Must be the DJ...because the staff, and the place are just a bunch of mish mash slapped together. The head bartender was rude, and was too busy looking at his non present biceps in the mirror. The doorman also rude. I am not really into latin music, but it seems that the dj was pushing the right buttons.
