uzion brings some big-city attitude to Church and Wellesley. The new restaurant, which is a complete redo of the space that was formerly Le Petit Liban, has the right vibe. Diners feel as if they're relaxing in a luxurious cocoon, thanks to a re-design that takes advantage of the best elements of the historic building.
Patrick Wiese, who was Oprah Winfrey's executive chef, has devised a menu that features fairly inventive fare: roasted scallops served with grilled Fuji apple rings and a peppered Calvados cream sauce; Carribean shrimp helped along with a roasted pineapple lychee salsa; Duck confit served with a pomegranate soy glaze.
Originally, the 120 year-old Victorian house was home to department store founder Robert Simpson. But the ambitious re-design may have found a new formula. Keep in mind, the entire dining area that is devoted to loungers and late-night diners drifts into club/lounge mode in the late hours. - D.E.

53 Reader Reviews | Thank you Fuzion staff for making my parent's 40th wedding anniversary such a success.
All of our guests had an excellent time there last night.
The Private dining room was perfect and the food was spectacular.
Hats off to the Chef, Wayne and Scott.
All the staff went out and beyond and we could not have asked for a better evening.

This place is over priced and your money is best spent elsewhere...
was with friends from europe and they were not impressed....
When we asked who the owner was the wait staff did not bring him over... but we soon realized he was outside berating a person on the street about his clothes...
This is not good for business....

Fuzion's experience can vary depending on whether you go for food or drinks. Let it be known that I have never eaten in the inside dining room, which looks pleasant.
The outdoor space is brilliant. It's welcoming and on a warm summer night, there are few places in the city where I'd rather be (gay or straight, it's a wonderful spot). If you go for drinks on a summer night, Fuzion is perfect. It's outdoor bar makes you feel like you're away on vacation. The drinks are wonderful and the space is funky but relaxed. I URGE someone else on Church st to open another space (outdoor or indoor)like this! Yes, "Straight" is a welcome addition across the street, especially in the winter. How about extending that level of style to south of Wellesley?
For dinner or lunch, Fuzion is overpriced. It's food, while good, does not make your rush back. You leave disapointed that you shelled out the same amount of cash that could have been spent much better outside of the village. Toronto is so unbelievably accepting, gays should not feel relegated to eating only in the village - either as a couple or with fellow gay boys. If Fuzion's prices dropped a notch or two, you would see me dining there al fresco weekly in the summer!
Kudos to the owners for bringing the best thing to happen to Church st in a very long time.
Btw, though I am gay, I've been here with multiple straight friends - all of which have loved the space. There is always a straight contingent here!
Getting Drinks at Fuzion Outside on a Summer Night - 4/4

Just got back from a lunch-time Summerlicious venture at Fuzion - boy, am I impressed. We were seated on the patio, which was fantastically beautiful - lush greenery managing to both block out the grime of the city street and yet show darting glimpses of city life.
We were seated right away and our waitress was extremely efficient.
The drinks were divine. I've been looking for a good mojito since a trip to Cuba, and with one sip of the Lemon Mojito, I was back in Varadero. My date had the White Sangria - the kick from the apricot brandy was perfect.
The watermelon-tomato-radish-feta salad was a refreshing summer treat - a perfect way to open a hot summer lunch. I chose the squid, which (although a smaller portion) was cooked to perfection and had a stunning flavour. I even found myself eating the tentacles. Everything was just very flavourful and great portion-sizing.
Dessert was the extreme pinnacle of our dining experience. We both had the banana-chocolate fudge dessert thing - a scoop of banana white chocolate ice cream with a scoop of chocolate at a fudge-like consistency, and a tart coulis. Amazing. We couldn't speak after.
All in all a wonderful dining experience and a beautiful atmosphere. I'll be back.

Fuzion was at the top of my hit list for this year's SUMMERLICIOUS... I have heard such good things about it... but one thing people can't stop talking about is the Fuzion patio... and after driving by it i just had to check it out!
but when i emailed to make a reservation, the reply made it clear that because of weather issues outside seating is first come first serve but they note your request for outside if available during my visit...
Well upon arriving for dinner at 9pm my eyes were mesmerized by the design & decor of the patio, and i loved the vibe and ambiance! then the hostess told myself and my party of 6 that our table had to be inside... i was so incredibly mad but as much as i didn't want to leave the patio to go indoors, i realized that the inside is also a gorgeous place! With the help of the air conditioning... i became at ease... satisfied...
the "WAIT"er, literally "WAIT"ED FOREVER for our apps. which were quite insipid... i found them boring and lacking in flavour... i prayed to God that my main dish would live up to this OVERTLY-MEDIA-HYPED Resto-Lounge... & mark my words... at the moment i was about to bad mouth the place... the most extravagant & stylish dish was placed before me, and tasted delicious.
...My entire table was mesmerized by the impact this course had on our perspective on FUZION. i literally fell in love with the place... to be in complete RAGE(1st the non-patio table then initial lack of service and food) then to be catapolted in the other direction made this experience one of a kind, in my 54 years of world travels ...spectacular!

My friends and I celebrated my sisters birthday last weekend at Fuzion. Our experience was amazing. There were about 11 of us and we were sat in the Chefs private dining area. What a treat!
Our 3 course meals was all to die for. The Fuzion Salad was interesting- flavors Ive never tasted before - but very good. I wasn't feeling very adventurous that night so I ordered the Ravioli as my main - best ravioli I've tasted - It made me realize that Ravioli doesn't have to be boring. It was delicious! The others at my table ordered the duck, quail an steak - it all looked so good, I have to come back and try them all for myself.
All in all it was a fantastic night. We topped it off with some drinks upstairs in the lounge area. Too bad the weather wasn't nice or else we would have sat outside for some cocktails on the patio.

OK...so I heard that the chef left a couple months ago....but it was my friends birthday, and going on that we have been there before and had an INCREDIBLE time. OK first, whats up with the menu..its all over the place. had the spinach salad...what the HELL is chorizo dressing..its MEAT. ALSO out of 4 of us two of our starters had to be sent back cause they were cold. Also there are three choices of Beef sizes...GUESS what it does not matter what size ..the Chef does not know how to cook them properly...maybe he should stick to fish. The dessert menu...well maybe have desserts when you open for business. Owners...WAKE UP if your Chef can't get it together..start packing it up! I don't know where the other chef went but He did an amazing job and its too bad Fuzion lost him. Good luck...flash in the pan-One more thing..maybe wait till people are done with there food before you bring on the dance music...you are taking our money for the food and wine let us have a peacful dinner-HOW RUDE!!

Just a heads up...the exectutive chef has left the building. I can't see this place lasting another six months as the chef was the only one in this venture that seemed to be good at his craft. It's really a shame.

This is maybe one of the worst restaurants I have eaten at in this city. I consider myself to be some what of a foodie and decided to try it because of a review I read in the globe and mail. The prices are absurd for the food being served. Me and my guest laughed when we saw the word mashed written on the menu at least 6 times. Not to mention the spelling errors. The food was horrible and the service was almost as bad.
I would never reccomend this restaurant to anybody. The space should be used as a night club because the chef obviously has no idea what he is doing. I heard that he worked for Oprah. I don't know how she ever ate this garbage

My husband and I went to Fuzion with several friends on New Year's Eve, and had an amazing time. It was our second time to Fuzion. This time we were seated upstairs in the private dining room, which was beautifully decorated and had a great atmosphere for a large group on New Year's Eve. Everyone was pleased with the food, which included an exotic oyster appetizer, fuzion salad, and a choice of vegetarian, chicken, fish, or beef. The desert was truly incredible, and we all sat around trying to figure out exactly what gave it its unique flavour. Our server was very professional, and answered all of our questions about the menu, and brought us anything we needed.
After dinner we stayed upstairs and danced and partied in the lounge. The music was great and lots of people were dancing, but if you wanted to have a conversation the back room was perfect.
Overall, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to have an upscale dinner at a restaurant with an elegant atmosphere and good service. The menu is somewhat expensive, but the value is great because the food is different and incorporates unique tastes to make it a worthwile experience.

I work at the corner of Church and Bloor and there is no where good to have lunch walking distance.
Until I found Fuzion by accident
The bread here was the best I have ever tasted.
Very happy to have stumbled across this new restaurant.
Have heard great reviews but I had to try it myself.
Friendly service and outstanding menu options, great wine list and at last someone knows how to make a mojito.
Quite the variety of vegetarian options.
I have found our new lunch spot

Ponydawg seems to have a personal vendetta against a great new restaurant in Toronto. From my personal experience the food great and the service is outstanding. the decor might be unmatched by any other in the city. I feel that Ponydawg has to much time on his hands and if you feel so strongly about this restaurant you should just not go back. No need to talk so poorly about a great little restaurant. and if a restaurant offers you a free meal take it you dumbass.

The evening started off nice enough. We ordered appetizers for two and they were very good. Then disaster struck. My guest ordered the lamb for $40. He was served a big plate with two, tiny portions of lamb somewhere in the centre of that big plate. Let's call a spade a spade. It was a rip-off. To add insult to injury, his empty plate (which didn't take him long to empty) just sat there until he finally asked the waiter to take it away.
Portion wise, I fared better with the 12 oz steak. Of course it had to be 12 oz., because that's what it says on the menu. However, the steak was tough, and I would have fared just as well at my favourite greasy spoon. The cost was only $38.
In summary, this is not a bad place for finger food, and the wine list is not bad either. However, any deviation from those two points and you will be taking a walk down rip-off alley.

While in Toronto for TIFF I have had the opportunity to dine in this city's top restaurants...Fuzion, my favourite so far.
This beautifull establishment served us the best experience yet in Toronto.
Very friendly staff, beautiful courtyard and the food.......To die for.
We had the lamb appetizer to start followed by the scallopps.
Fuzion salad highly recomended by our server was next.
I had never tasted or seen anything like it.
For mains we had the Char and the Pork(again suggestions of our server).
Very well put together, yummy !
For dessert we split their homemade chocolate cake.
Very Happy with our choices we decided to move outside to enjoy some of Toronto's hip scene and fresh air, when we ran into some celebs on their courtyard.
Their staff made us feel important and we cannot wait to go back.

Good food, so so service.
The food at Fuzion was tasty, well presented and interesting.
The service was not what I expected. Perhaps our waiter was new, or inexperienced but he just didn't seem aware of things. We were stuck at the back of the restaurant, the only table in a small room for about 30 min. and more attention was paid to patrons in the front dining area. ONce our order was taken, anything we needed had to be asked for. Instead of being offered more wine, I had to ask. We had to ask for more bread, ask for sideplates, new cutlery for second courses. I just expected more attention. When we said we were done our entrees our bill was delivered at the same time our plates were removed and no dessert offered. Call me picky, but the service was not up to snuff.

We had a wonderful evening at Fuzion, totally unexpected and by chance looking for a new eatery.
Probably best scallops ever had, anywhere. Good cocktail list, short menu and wine list, but good choices. I had an excellent char, lightly crisped under, and the quail with foie gras was outstanding.
Good service, not inexpensive, but well worth it, given great surroundings (on terrace), good food and attentive service.
Happy to recommend it for atmosphere and food from a chef who knows how to assemble unusual combinations without being quirky.

While visiting Toronto last weekend we had the pleasure of viting this gorgeous establishmeny recomended to us by the concierge at the 4 seasons hotel.
It was Sunday night and we had a beautiful table inside by the front window.
Unfortunately their patio was full.
Our server was warm, charming and very helpfull.
We had some kind of unique oyster appetizer followed by some scallops.
My husband had the pork and I had the grouper.
Both FABULOUS.
Later that evening the chef came out to the dining room with a big smile and asked all the guests how the food was which I thought was brilliant.
Very impressive.

Oh my god! Maybe we had too much expectations of this fancy looking restaurant.
We went there to spent our last evening in Toronto, no matter of costs what so ever. And oh, what we got.
Chef choice - light disappointment, no taste. (Is it really for two person???)
Smoked mozzarella - what a catastrophe. Taste like bad and overdue cottagecheese. Overpriced and bad taste. Yäk!
Beef - Asked medium and served welldone and burned. Oh my, like amateur bbq - or even worse.
Wine - Poor list!!! Asked New Zealand Pinot Noir, served Californian same priced pinot Noir, because NZ was finished. Wine was ok, but overpriced and far from NZ wines.
Well, that's what happened to us, on saturday evening. Service was warm and caring, thanks for that. After restaurants apologizes we got our bill and only 2/3 of wines were charged, no food at all.
But it was our last evening in Toronto........
I just can't recommend this restaurant to anyone, they are amateurs!

Wow, how anyone has anything postive to say about this place is beyond belief. This is one of the worst restaurants I've ever been too. Talk about over priced and over hyped this is the place. I actually ate at this restaurant and can only think that the postive reviews were plants from people who are involved with the place.
Started with some shrimp which were actually quite good. The main courses were.....appalling. The service was of the I'm your buddy school of waitering'.
I guess the only thing to say is Buyer Beware.

We came here to celebrate a birthday party and were seated in a private dinning room/lounge upstairs, which was really elegant and set the atmosphere for the night. The food and the service were amazing, everything was top notch from appetizers to dessert. We could have had the Oyster shooters all night. To top it all off, the creme brule was delicious. This restaurant is truly a hidden gem in the city.

Our boss was retiring last night so we took her to Fuzion for dinner. There was a group of 18 of us so the chef put together a fabulous special 5 course menu for us.
They also paired the wine for us, what a nice touch.
Sat up stairs in the private dining room for dinner, then moved into their gorgeous lounge for cocktails as we showed a little video of last years summer picknick on their projection screen.
Extremely happy with our choice, our meals were all excellent, especially the lamb and shrimp appetizer. The bread was to die for...
Their salmon was tasty and done right on. My friend's steak was a little over done but it was good anyway. She loved it.
Thank you and Great job Fuzion team...

Met a friend for some Friday night dins a couple weeks back. Everything started out okay, service was friendly and attentive, ordered drinks, etc. Our server suggested the Chef's selection appetizer. 3 samples off the appetizer menu. We were good with that. This "Chef's" selection came to the table, 2 lamb, 2 duck dumplings, and the reason for this review, 2 baked oysters, 1 of which was rank and obviously turned... the scent was pugnant and turned mine and my dates stomach immediately. after a couple minutes we got our servers attention, the scent growing in foulty, discreetly brought it to his attention, no sense making a scene although the scent I'm sure was noticeable to the surrounding tables... he came back and apologized replacing the oysters with 2 coconut shrimp. to be honest, my stomach was turned the remainder of the evening so i won't comment on the rest of the food aside from the steak i had was a great cut and cooked to my liking. Getting to the point now, the bill came and we were charged for "chef's" selection appetizer... this is oysters people, not rocket science. too many great resto's in this city, i won't be back to that one, nuff said.

This last review sounds rather mean. There is a lot of hate in the last review. Sounds very suspicious. I think there is a personal dislike...perhaps an ex employee or an ex boyfriend ?
I was at this restaurant for dinner last Saturday night with 14 of my girlfriends celebrating my stagette party. After reading all these great reviews, I thought we would give it a try.
The food was very tasty and well presented. All of my guests enjoyed their food from the salad, appetizer, main course and dessert. I must say that the fuzion salad was the most unique salad I ever saw or tasted (yum).
We sat up stairs in the private dining room and had our own personal server. Michael was excellent. Very informative, professional and fun.
We are not the best knowledged group when it comes to wine but he helped us choose our wine and didn't make us buy the most expensive on the menu like the last restaurant we went to.
The music got a little louder at 1030pm and the dj was great.
Overall we had a great time. The whole night was a blast, wish the washroom was closer to our table.
Mr. or Mrs. Miserable was only right about 2 things.
1. The decor
2. The bread

I guess things have must have improved since my trip to this questionable establishment. On the plus side they've obviously spent a lot of money and time on the décor, it looks great. However, as the old adage goes, don't judge a book by its cover.
The food was the most revolting slop I've ever not eaten. I was in a party of 8 people and all 8 main courses were inedible. If the man who designed the restaurant's menu really worked for Oprah (its in their PR blurb) he must be the one responsible for her weight loss because I don't think the queen of daytime TV would let a morsel of this muck past her lips.
When the server took away my uneaten $30 steak, the steak would have been good except it was swimming in a pool of grease from the root vegetables, she didn't even enquire as to why it was barely touched. A similar lack of interest was applied to all the other uneaten meals. I can only surmise that someone is so used to getting food for their dog they don’t care what kind of crap they serve.
When I followed up the evening with an email to the restaurant I was first met with the typical childless couples strategy on Halloween - 'don't answer and maybe they’ll go away’ followed by the 'we are proud of our food' boilerplate from some PR hack. To be fair they then suggested I come back and try another meal on them, however, the first experience left such a hideous impression I’d rather chew thumb tacks than eat there again.
In short, maybe they were having a bad night but 8 people who live downtown and dine out regularly have sworn never to return to this glorified diner. If you want to spend $80 a head at an establishment employing teenager servers and serving glorified hog swill this is the place.
PS. The bread was good.

A group of eight of us went to Fuzion about a week ago and we really enjoyed ourselves. Food and atmosphere was as good if not better than a lot of the places we frequent in our beautiful city.
For our group it wasn't a big deal that the chef cooked for “Ms. O.” I'm sure his food was great before he worked for her (do you think that's why he got hired?) and as we found out, his food is definitely great at Fuzion.
Our group really enjoyed the bison, steak, chicken and if I recall correctly, the skate. Generous portions that filled us...and not having dreams of eating something after we left before we went out for cocktails. Next time we'll try some of the other entrees.
From experience, the best person to rate a place is yourself...

1. The decor
2. The bread

Slopfuzion

I went to Fuzion last night, and was truly impressed with everything. I've never had such a satisfying meal in Toronto. The food was all incredible, and - most importantly - all the customer service was perfect. I could give details, but I just recommend you see for yourself.

Last Saturday was my sisters 35th birthday. We decided to check out this new place because of the reviews on this website . There was 14 of us for dinner and the food was excellent, especially the skate.
Big portions and well priced.
Very comfortable thick chairs made us want to stay all night.
Michael our server was fantastic and made the evening one to remember. Thanks Michael.
Great space for a night out. This place is gorgeous. We had a fantastic dinner downstairs and went up to the lounge for drinks. The dj was playing very cool music, the crowd was mature and the vibe was great .
I think we have found our new spot.

When we entered, we were greeted by the owner which I found to be a nice touch. The overall decor was really smart and I had a nice comfortable feeling - I wasn't intimidated by the dark walnut stained paneled entrance or by the plush curtains and rich velvet seating. They had these really cool vases that looked like elephant trunks or something exotic like that – I wanted them!. The waiter was very pleasant and professional. He made some great recommendations - he really knew his stuff. Well let me tell you... the food was to die for and the presentation was exquisite (they say that you eat with your eyes first). We also checked out the lounge upstairs…very, very cool. Can’t wait to go back with my co-workers for some cocktails after work and maybe some more of those great appetizers.

Very difficult to find, but it was way worth the hunt.
From the outside Fuzion looked closed but we followed the path of lanterns to the front door.
Once we got in the host walked us through a busy dinning room to our table. We were surprised they were so busy for a place hard to find.
Beautifull decor, friendly staff, and the food was excellent.
We were there for dinner last saturday with 10 friends and everything was flawless.
After dinner, we walked up to this hidden gem of a lounge and was amazed by this gorgeous space.
We stayed late and sipped on martini's all night long.
Finally, a real bartender who can make a perfect martini PERFECT !!
Cannot wait to go back.
Overall .......Outstanding!!!

I thought I'd try something different tonight.
Stepping away from all the big name chi-chi froo-froo restaurants I was adventurous tonight.
I found Fuzion on this site and thought I would try it out.
When I got there, I was greated by this friendly host. He sat us at this table by the fireplace and actually opened the menu for us. At that point I knew the service here would be good.
The waiter arrived at our table with a smile, taking our drink order.
He then described items off the menu that he liked. We went with his suggestions ordering the chef's selection for two. When it came to the table my date was "wow'd". The lamb was tasty, the shrimp was to die for and the mussels....orgasmic.
We had the fuzion salad and the pear salad after that.
Very different, yet tasty.
For dinner we had skate which I have not seen a lot. Tina had the Bison, that actually fell off the bone. We were impressed. The portions were big so Mcdonald's on the way home was out of the question this time. When it came time for dessert we tried the 3 creme brulee dish ...i forget what it was called but it was good.
The atmosphere was good, this was one of those old house places, very warm, cozy and unique, and the washroom on the second floor blew me away.
If your looking for an intimate dinner, good food and value I strongly suggest Fuzion.
Great first date place.
John.
