The next time I walk down Roncesvelles I will know better to walk past Fat Cat Wine Bar. The service was dreadful and slow. The blond bimbo in the kitchen had as much personality as Leona Helmsly and should have spent her time tidying the washroom which was filthy. Our intention was to enjoy a bottle of wine and a few shared dishes from the menu but we decided on a glass and get out. The neighborhood deserves better.

Our party of 8 was sadly disappointed. The service was bad. The waiter didn't know any of the specials and had to interrupt himself three times to leave our table to refresh his memory. Some of the items on the menu were not available. The beer was flat! Two of our drink selections were unavailable and one was an Ontario wine. This seems strange for an establishment with "wine bar" in the name. Upon entering we were accosted by a smell that was indescribable. We will not go back.

I took a friend here for birthday Friday night. We arrived around 9.30 and decided to grab a drink elsewhere, as the resto was full. When we arrived back half an hour later the venue had cleared out and we were seated within 5 minutes.
The service was impeccable - very attentive but laid back. The wine was simply out of this world and it was an absolute treat to be able to purchase by the half litre - it allowed us to try a couple of superb offerings.
It's difficult to describe the food because it was so well done, yet simply so.
For the two half litres we enjoyed along with four gorgeous tasting plates the cost was incredible - only $150, including tip! Very affordable and we'll be back in the next few months since apparently the menu changes every month or so. We were told the wine list changes every two weeks - very fun!
I recommend you go later at night to avoid the dinner rush.

I love this place and the bistro. Matthew is a GOD of food and the atmosphere in the wine bar is intelligent, sophisticated and low bullsh#$%. If you've been chased away from Colleg Street by the stupid, overpriced, bad service, club bistros then come to Rosney and enjoy a glass of wine.
