aving confidently plopped down her Dark Horse Espresso Bar, Deanna Zunde must feel at home in the East Side. The new bean spot at Queen and Broadview relies heavily on Zunde's considerable espresso prowess. Devoted to her craft, Zunde et al serve ceramic cup lattes and espressos in a fun, raw space that sports pre-loved, cracked brick and beam finish and resembles something straight out of SoHo. Muffins and mini pastries round out the menu, but its Dark Horse's rich, smooth coffee and attention to detail that will ultimately draw the crowds.

I'm amazed that anyone would mix up the mass produced coffee from chains with those lovingly prepared by real baristi who know their art. My tip is to get along to DH when Marcy is pulling shots and give your tastebuds a real treat!

Good roast, good politics, and lovely people behind the counter. The morning TTC trip to work has never been better, since I discovered Dark Horse!

Nick almost sounds like the owner of the place...hehehe I have to say not a coffee junkie...but I did pop by the other day...it was a little too busy for me!

For those that love Starbucks and it's formulaic venue and mass appeal, you won't be missed at the now always packed Dark Horse.

Contrary to one of the reviewers, the cafe is very clean and is a great, unique place to hang out at and at half the cost of Starbucks. You can't beat that!

Moose, you need to get a life!!! This place is dirty looking and has the rawness of a place that can't afford it's bills. Starbucks does circles around this place.

This is a much nicer atmosphere than the local starbucks. True coffee drinkers enjoy a latte that is made with skill and dedication. Starbucks cannot provide a cup of coffee that has dedication. The barista's at Dark horse are knowledgeable and it is one location I recomend.

This fantastic wateringhole for coffe and tea junkies as well as professionals requiring free wireless access in a bright well located convenient location is a must.
The propriators are treating one as family and the service is outstanding .
Now the coffees are something visually as well as sensory exceptional.
This is THE future of Leslieville.
Try it. kaizerbusiness.com is more than happy to promote this cafe.
