Bars like the Communist Daughter, the Chelsea Room, and Cocktail Molotov sprung up in quick succession, attracting 50 drinkers, tight t-shirters and vinyl enthusiasts. Though Dundas hasn't exploded as quickly as initially thought, Stoberville has dominoed bar nascence up Ossington toward Portugal, so the street above Queen may yet blow up. An always cool Queen Street alternative, the narrow, candlelit, and tight-jean soundtracked Cocktail Molotov has a neighbourhood vibe, resembling Junction and Parkdale counterparts. The lighting is dim, the art is local and on rotation, and the crowd is, well, small (at least typically). It's an intimate and conversation-ready joint, serving zeitgeist drinks for the nearby sit and talk set.
