Tony here...
I went into Carens with a ladyfriend and I had informed her that she couldn't spend more than $17.00 on her food. I, on the other hand, had a 3-course meal and played grab-ass with the waitress while my ladylove was in the washroom. Don't get me wrong... I love her... But she's got a gap in her teeth that whistles whilst we sleep. And this waitress was a Polynesian bird with a black eye. When I asked about her eye, she told me she "fell into a door". I knew right away that it was love. I need a drink...

The atmosphere in this restaurant is very warm. The food is fabulous and the selection of cheeses very impressive. The staff makes you feel welcome with out being intrusive. You almost have the feeling you are at a dinner party rather than a restaurant.

Caren's is as close to Cheer's as I might ever find; everybody knows my name and I always know what's fresh and what wine is new. Caren herself is lovely, has great taste in wine and cheese and runs a lovely place...the back garden is a summer favourite. Brunch is a standard that you can count on.
