    Review by Ellen Jakobsmeier
You want Canadian cuisine at its finest without the beavers, hockey or Lumberjack references but are sick of Tim Hortons turkey bacon club. On the menu at Canoe: Refined Canadiana.

Picture paddling on a rushing West coast river among king salmon jumping upstream, or imagine a Quebec Maple Syrup sugar shack where the sticky stuff is freshly poured onto snow banks to make sweet winter treats, or perhaps your vision of Canada is an East coast trip on the Cabot trail where you can peruse tiny fishing villages and get a healthy dose of the salty sea air.

Bonacini’s tribute to our wonderful country capitalizes on Canada's marvelous coast to coast culinary resources. The Lobster clubhouse or Baked Heritage salmon fillet are notable entrée mentions, as well as the C.B.L.T. with maple infused bacon and a smoky pepper mayo to give it a nice kick. Plenty of natural wood accents and plush suede booths create an environment that attempts to capture a truly authentic Canadian feel in combination with clean modern lines that we all love. A delicious treat. - E.J

Lovely setting ,great view, excellent lady sommelier but over fussy food and some wierd combinations like chocolate scallops!try Jamie Olivers Fifteen in london if you really like fine dining!I enjoyed most of my food but my husband was reduced to laughter by some of the combinations.Pickled chocolate walnuts indeed!

Food was medicore to bad. the day's special 'schnitzel' was definately not fresh and very greasy. Overall all food was greasy. Their specialty, wild mushroom soup was bland - had much better in Polish restaurants.
Food server was also a snob who charged for the schnitzel even though it was not eaten. Don't go - not worth it!

Upon a request to accomodate our entire party -- thus needing a single additional chair -- the manager made the comment:

"We don't do that... That's not what we're about here."

I need to point out that this was on a Tuesday, and we were seated in the corner by the kitchen bar, probably due to the fact that we are largely in our thirties and I guess are assumed to be small spenders.

Needless to say, my dining experience continued at 50 stories below at Bymark. I don't need that kind of attitude on a Tuesday.

Is there a service rating below 1?
