Diners choose from a small array of geographically specific entrees, such as Picanha: grilled sirloin with garlic butter and served with farofa, crispy cassava chips and salsa. The seared chicken, a muskily sweet breast brightened by angu (polenta), spinach, in an okra sauce.
A few side dishes are offered; get the Pao de Queijo, if it's not included with any of your entrees. This is cheese bread that is served in Brazil in somewhat the way we have bread with our meals here.
Desserts didn't knock us out and the wine list is compact, but with lots of food-friendly choices at reasonable prices; the by-the-glass list seems particularly well thought-out. There's also a list of specialty cocktails, most of a Brazilian heritage.
With its playful menu, careful attention to ingredients and Mario Cassini’s intelligent, sensual cooking, Caju is serendipitous. The fact that it's in Candy Factory area makes it all the sweeter. - S.W.

Caju has the best and most authentic Caipirinhas in Toronto and as good as any I have had in Brazil. I had the Moqueca - the fish stew which was delicious and the portion size was generous. My dinner guest had the dinner special which was a beef and pork skewer which was amazing - the meat was so tender and flavourful. The dessert selection is small - but worth trying. The passion fruit mousse was tasty and the chocolate dessert was divine. The service was friendly and efficient and the atomosphere made you want to linger.
We left satisfied and felt that we received great value. We would definitely return.

I was really looking forward to a warm brazilian atmosphere. Instead my husband and I entered a atmosphere that was breath taking only until the moment we were seated. There were minimal selection of entrees and for the portion that we recieved it was over PRICED! I have never felt my 60 bucks was well wasted. We walked out the restaurant looking for somewhere else to go and fill our empty stomach. We refused to tip the waitress because on several occations she CHOSE not to offer us details such as "free desserts" and "special of the day". ALSO for a restaurant that states authentic drinks DO NOT state Brazilian Rum if its Bacardi VODKA. I liked my drink but I was looking forward to the authentic taste. I would not recommend anyone to go to the restaurant. The customer service was weak, the food I could have made at home and overall we were not impressed. Before we exited we noticed the waitress asking a couple across from us if "there is a reason why she didn't eat everything?" - What kind of question is this to ask. She replied by stating "The Chef will think that something is wrong with it!" - destiny is all yours.

A lovely little restaurant. The appetizer selection is mouth-watering, from crab cakes to palm salsa, patrons will have a hard time deciding on only one. My advice is come in a small group and share. The mains are more focused on pork dishes served in tasty sauces. The wine list is short but versatile. The service is quick and friendly. The atmosphere is clean and sleek. Great music.

-A regular at this Brazilian restaurant on Queen West across from the Candy Factory Lofts in the Art & Design District. The food is fresh and imaginative and is served in a casual and cool atmosphere. The Moqueca is my favourite with the malagueta on the side... and Pam makes the best Caipirinha cocktails!
