Since its inception, this King West lounge has attracted a slew of moneyed advertising execs employed in the area with a communal dining menu, DJ spun house music, and a sexy wait staff (don’t even try asking for their number). With this year’s TIFF, the schmooze factor gets amped up with a screening party for Jude Law’s new flick Sleuth . With an extended liquor license for select events, perhaps you should start filling out that nanny application now.

Long gone the days when Brant House was the only kind on the block when everybody wanted to get into. With all the new establishments, like The Spice Route (NO Cover & fabulous), 2 Cats (NO Cover), The Century Room (Good looking people) among others, the managements of this pathetic dark low-budget hole needs to realize that The Customer is always right! They should be grateful that we even want to come to that pathetic dark hole in the wall, and thank us for that, instead of creating artificial line ups for the place that is pathetically dead inside, or charging us $10 cover to go inside a place that is, well, dead, on the busiest days of the week!

The pathetic little imbecile with a mustache at the door has to shove his attitude up his throat and BE NICE to people who are lining up at the door to spend their hard-earned money that in the end of the day pays for his salary.

The management of Brant House has to understand the true meaning of the words “competition” and “customer service” and to forget the words “attitude” and “putting down people who get your business going” if they want their business to get going.

To finalize, I am too old to stand waiting to pay my cover charge and spend more money on drinks in line feeling like a 3rd world and 2nd class citizen watching 50 people pass the line in front of me because I gave an attitude to the short door person with a mustache (or was it a beard?) who is was a jerk and is now holding a line of 100 people with me in the front because he is on his little power trip.

There are nicer places with more ambiance and better looking people out there that don’t even charge cover to get into.

PS If you are still determined to go to Brant House, don’t go on Saturday, because nobody is good looking there!

PPS We went to Brant on a Thursday (aka in Toronto as the ‘busiest day of the week’) and the place was EMPTY because Spice Route across the street was hot, hopping, full of good-looking people and fun, and at Brant they still wanted us to pay cover to get into the EMPTY place! No, literally, there was no one there! As far as I am concerned, they should be paying ME to go into that sorry place and make it look busy!

PPPS I hope Brant House goes out of business really soon!

We went for a friend's birthday celebration and were not impressed. There were too many rules around booking a group of 10, and a prix fixe meal suitable for a low-budget wedding.

The waiter advised us that a cocktail menu was not available and he didn't offer any options. We won't be back.

WAY too dark for dining, there were prolly 5 birthday parties on a Sat. night so we were stuck in the back corner. Couldn't even see the food it was so dark. As mentioned, crowd is either really old guys (looked like in their 40s) or drunk teenage girls who couldn't control their movements and spilled their drinks all over the place. Music was nothing special, probably wouldn't go back.

Are you kidding me here? Talk about a waste of cover charge! Brant House is THE place to be, if you want to be surrounded by poorly dressed 19 year olds. Can't believe the doorperson gave me the once over before letting me in - had he seen what was actually inside the club? Wow. What a let down..thankfully the visit was very short!

I went on a Wednesday night for dinner, around 8-9ish. There was only one other booth with diners (about 8 of them) and we were seated at a booth as well. The food was great, but i was hoping to experience the communal dining at BH but didn't get to...have to come back on a fri/sat night i suppose
