great coffee shop offers up both the dependable and the unexpected. Barako's is such a spot. There are the faithful, cranky regulars whiling away the day over a newspaper and hot, fresh coffee. Breakfast fare is served anytime, in a narrow, blink-and-you'll-miss-it spot; the bean bevs flow, copious and tongue scorching. Wonderful. - A.J.
