Toronto hero chef, Marc Thuet, has launched his Liberty Village dinner party/canine friendly food stop. Look for glorified and gussied-up peasant staples (swank meat, bread, and cheese), classic Thuet items, and gourmet dog biscuits (seriously (please sir, do you have any change? No?)). -S.T.

Sat quickly, but food took an unusually long time. Food was pretty good, and I would say worth the wait.

Overall: as my girlfriend put it: "I would come back, just not when I am starving."

I did not enjoy my experience with this place for Winterlicious. I don't think they ever had sea bass. Most diminuitive portions imaginable, thank god there was at least good bread. I found this odd because other reviews described the (non-Winterlicious) portions as huge. The atmosphere of this restaurant is depressing (big screen TVs!), the waiter's manner of describing the weird menu was annoying. I know restauranteurs hate Winterlicious but they should treat it as an opportunity to draw and impress new clients. And its really not that cheap - I can get a great meal for two people for $100 at a dozen other restaurants anytime of the year.

My boyfriend and I booked this restaurant for the Winterlicious event. We booked on the first day they took reservations for four people. However, when getting to the restaurant, they didn't even have a table for us in the main room - instead we were seated in the closed bakery take away area. Not being too fussy, we took the table anyways. The host promised that we wouldn't be forgotten or ignored. We had read great reviews and were looking forward to this meal with friends of ours. The appetizers came out and they were very average. For the mains, they had run out of seabass. It was only 7:30pm. To have only three choices, I found it hard to believe they ran out of seabass!! Instead I was given salmon, which was fine because I like salmon too. However, to my surprise and everyone else's, the salmon was the tiniest and thinnest piece I've ever been given in a restaurant. To top that, it was overcooked. They even used what appeared to be frozen vegetables (peas and carrots) in the chicken pot pie. My boyfriend had the gnocchi with tripe and brasied pork belly. It was nothing but a tasteless bowl of mush. They had also run out of the apple gateau for dessert so we opted for the verrine and winter compote. They were okay, but wasn't impressive either. The best thing we had really was the bottle of Australian shiraz and company. The host asked us how our food was, and I gave him the impression that it was just 'okay'.... to say the least even though we weren't impressed at all. He was surprised and offered us free treats from the bakery to "sweeten the deal".... we found him obnoxious and rude. Its a bit unfortunate as we had heard great reviews and were excited about trying this restaurant. I doubt they would serve these items on their regular menu as it really doesn't serve to entice people to come back, which is the whole point of Winterlicious isn't it???!!

I really wanted to like this place, but was seriously let down. Limited menu. Excellent wait staff. They do not take Mastercard or debit. They sent me across to the pub to a bank machine which did not work. Ended up driving over to TD to get cash, very annoying when you have a client with you. I checked the restaurant entrance, there is no signage to indicate that they only take Visa. Won't be returning or recommending. Now, I don't know about you, but when I am in Paris, my Mastercard is never a problem, it is universally aceepted. Trusting Martini Boys will adjust the listing to show the limited paymnet options.

You have to try the French Toast for Brunch! With shaved pork and fresh fruit and the right touch of real maple syrup...definately a great place for brunch in Liberty Village.
