  his quaint Cambodian restaurant gets its name from a region in Cambodia that was occupied by the Khmer empire from the 9th to the 15th century. This reference is quite fitting seeing as the restaurant pays tribute to its history with photographs of Cambodian monuments and a cuisine that incorporates traditional Cambodian fare.
Starter items include freshly rolled rice noodle wraps with shrimp, bean sprout, cucumbers and basil leaves served with peanut source. There's also a green papaya salad made with carrot, baby shrimps, basil leaves, fresh chillies and peanut sauce. For the mains, there's fried fish with ginger and mushrooms and every stir-fry here is a heaping portion of vegetables and noodles (with meat if you prefer). To say that their menu is large would be an understatement and I can hardly do Angkor's large selection justice here.

2 Reader Reviews | Just went to Angkor today on the recommendation of a colleague. I can't believe I've missed this place for the last year and a half!! Though the decor is a little wild and bright and could use some finishing touches, the food is fantastic! The spicy chicken in a peanut sauce tasted fresh and tangy - just the right amount of spice. The orange chicken sweet and spicy and the pad thai had hints of lime and ginger. This is not your average pad thai. To complement the great $5.99 lunch specials was a Cambodian style shrimp fried rice which was so flavourful it could have been a meal on its own. The owner is extremely courteous and you will be welcomed as if family. Expect a lot of friendly banter as you will be regaled with tales of his life in Cambodia, the extensive history and beautiful temples of his country and of course, the food. Little Chinatown's best kept secret by far.
