here certainly aren't many good restaurants in the Beaches (other than sandwich and pub fare), so it's always a pleasant surprise when something decent like Amuse opens its doors in that area. Located in a recently renovated 100-year-old Queen Anne style house, this place drips with class. The menu is small (just five starters, six mains, and 11 wines), but with items like grilled scallops served over poached sunchokes or grilled Ontario pork loin with apple and endive slaw, you don't need a big selection. Make no mistake, Amuse isn't in the running for the greatest cuisine in Toronto, but it is certainly one of the best in the beaches. Simple, classic, and tasty. Who could ask for anything more? -PB

The restaurant in the Beaches is one of the best in the area, but since it is in... the Beaches, it isn't exactly bringing in the foodies. But the chef does some amazing stuff in his kitchen...spend an evening there. Worth the drive.
