The bright green sign of Ackee Tree Jamaican Cuisine seems to be peaking eyebrows to maximum, um, peak. Armed with family recipes for jerk chicken and oxtail, this Queen and Spadina café serves up home-style Jamaican as well as other West Indie faves. Having already won the hearts of Humber College Students, owners have bravely picked the old Exone Bubble Tea spot as the location for their latest niche eatery. With little competition at the Q and S corners, Ackee could become a Queen Street darling.

Ackee tree serve some of the tastiest Jamaican fare outside of the island.
The comprehensive menu is reasonable price with food nicely presented and fresh from the pot.
Be adventurous and taste a little bit of Jamaica right here in the middle of Toronto.
Talk with the friendly staff about what is on offer I find they are more than willing to help.

Lots of care goes into making sure everything's fresh and tasty. The restaurant is always clean, the portions generous, and they know how to keep things authentic. Sometimes the ackee can have a little too much saltfish, sometimes the jerk pork isn't soft enough, but isn't that the case with most of our own cooking at home anyway? This is the best Jamaican food in this area by far. Plus they support local artists and musicians in house.

We had an excellent experience here. Food was flavourful, service was friendly and you can't beat the price. This will be one of our Queen St. regulars.

Big portions but bland and boring. Not much jerk, and the pork was dashed with some grocery-store quality sauce. I would pass this one.
