For years, martiniboys.com staff has hit this bar - for professional reasons, of course. (Hey, it's the least we can do for you, our awesome readers.) Along the way, we sampled apple martinis (they're green), pastas, pizzas, Greek pita and other pub-style sandwiches. .

Go late one night (7 West is open 24 hours daily) and try get a spot on that super-tiny two-table patio overlooking the Charles Street riff-raff, and let the barkeep make you some cool signature something-or-other that may or may not contain Stoli, Midori, Southern Comfort and sweet-and-sour mix. We'll stick to Cosmopolitans, thanks. – S.W.

I just finished shopping with my friends and the four of us had been wanting to see what 7 West Cafe was like, so we headed over for dinner.

We were seated on the first floor, and the table was sticky. My friends and I had a hard time getting the attention of our waitress. When we finally got the attention of our waitress, she wiped it down with a damp cloth and left wet. Even after it dried, the tables were still a bit sticky.

We weren't asked to order until 15 minutes after being seated. When we did, we ordered the 7 west platter as an appetizer. For the main course, I ordered Penne Primavera and my friends ordered vegetarian pizza, prego steak sandwich and Lasagna.

I ordered rum and coke from the bar and it was really weak - I could barely taste the rum! It was worst than going to a night club for drinks.

The pizza was soggy and very oily. There wasn't a lot of flavour. The penne chicken was gross - the sauce was very thin.

After a great day of shopping, the night ended poorly with bad service and bad food. I'm never going back...

7 West Cafe - customer services need to be taught

Accidents in restaurant does happen and nobody wants to be on either end of it. When it does, I believe it is best for the management to pro-actively manage the situation.

I was out celebrating a birth with friends and decided to get a coffee at 7 West on this past Saturday, March 3. However, the celebrating was cut short due to an accident that spilled the entire cup of coffee with the whip cream and all that onto my friend ruining the shirt, jeans, and the jacket. The waiter was quick to cleanup the mess, however, we were annoyed that a number of things didn't happen soon after:

    1) Didn't offer to assist my friend and see what can be done in cleaning up his clothes. letting a customer walk out in this cold weather WET.

    2) Didn't offer to settle the bill or provide a gift certificate as a compensation of the accident.

    3) Didn't get inform other wait staff or his supervisor to provide extra hands and see how they can help someone salvage the evening because it was only 10PM and we might have plans afterwards.

    4) Didn't get us to sign a release of liability (ah-ha!, if you as a reader who owns a restaurant or a club or any public venue, be sure you have blank release of liability form on hand to handle accidents to keep small accident from turning into a legal matter for you. Although some legal experts will argue the validity of such form, but it is one small piece of paper that can save your business).

For all that matters, I think 7 West can be a bit more attentive to the incident because you never who might be at the place - a restaurant reviewer, member of the press, safety inspector from insurance company or public agencies.

As much as I have enjoyed the place, I am surprised how they managed to pass fire safety inspection, do you know when all the tables are full, you can't even walk thru without bumping into chairs or other people? This is most likely the cause of the accident, the waiter has to turn side way and twist in order to place the coffee onto the table.

Certainly hope they were able to learn something, would be a terrible incident if a hot plate of food or hot cup of tea land on a customer's head.

Very uncomfortable seating, I felt as if I was sitting on a park bench. The second time I went to this restaurant with a friend and he placed an order for a salad. 10-15 min later, the server brings him the salad. We tasted it and it seemed as if the salad was dipped in a bucket of water, barely dried off and dressed with nasty dressing. We sent the salad back and it still tasted disgusting.
