Amongst all the 'Look-at-Me' (and really they are) style spots on King West stands 2 Cats, a refreshingly laid-back gem that’s dark and brazen, sarcastic and soulful.
A quirky, intriguing and swank Manhattan-style cigar lounge, 2 Cats features oak flooring and low couches setting the stage for a late night crowd of locals and Euros who have all come out for an evening at one of the better grade meat markets in town. Soon, you too will find yourself in-sway with an attractive and high-spirited crowd eating up the eclectic beats.
An easy-to-miss entranceway gives hints of a rich brown interior. An ultra-cool, wood-grained space with curious spot lighting sets the tone for a Dean Martin-would-be-proud night on the town, complete with dry martinis and soul-satisfying beats pumping throughout the night. Oh, the music, the music.
The 2 Cats vibe invokes a swanky notion of Rat Pack types, lounging about with jet fuel cocktails, a zest for life and no need for sleep. The place seems to attract just this type of crowd. Another haven for fun-luvin people.
The overhead speakers pump out a hodge-podge mix of dance music. As the night begins, you might hear the song stylings of Erykah Badu or Maxwell, and as it progresses, the place gets jumpin' with a prepared mix of underground house. The musical choice adds to the ambiance, casting an unpretentious mood over what can often seem like an affected crowd.

16 Reader Reviews | WOW, Everyone that I bring to the bar says 'what a great bar this is'. Thank you to the staff and regulars for making this such a welcoming place. I've read a few of the comments written above and i appreciate everyone's opinion. However, I've found the folks that attend 2 cats enjoy every 3rd song, and they enjoy it so much they feel nastolgic enough to keep on coming back. And despite the rare frown there's always at least 4 smiling, singing faces dancing to the same song. You can't please everyone.... and they don't give a shit. I love it!

2 Cats...! It's been ages. Very happy to see it's still around. Sorry to hear the bad review.

We use to LOVE 2CATS! But sadly, as of late, one of the bartenders has taken it upon himself to be the appointed deejay and as sad as I am to say it - the music sucks the big one!! Over the last month or so there has been a serious decline in attendance on the weekends and even conversations with some of the bar staff have all pointed to the fact that 2CATS is going downhill fast because of the poor music selection. 2CATS we love you, but your bar is quickly losing its original appeal. Shape up! Even your staff is saying so!

Great drinks, good service.Music was definitely eclectic. We would have enjoyed some of the underground house that the martini boys review mentions. It was all over the map, and it was all retro. Was very full, but actually not impossibly packed. Decor was excellent, atmosphere was warm and fun.

THIS PLACE BLOWS HARDCORE. I have never seen more aged people in one place in my life. It was a sea of old ugmos and the music was more befitting an epidode of hee haw than sex and the city. Truly goes down in history as the first time in history where i wanted to kill myself in a club because it was so goddamned awful (think chock-a-block with moms in double denim and highlights from fantastic sam's. i'm surpised you couldn't smell perm solution. DO NOT GO THERE!

Was there Thursday about 11:00p.m....warm & cozy and packed. I literally could not move in the bar area at all! I almost could not leave the bar area with my drinks in my hands. The staff need to control the amount of people by the bar somehow...Other than that, you can't ask for a friendlier Bartending staff. We had lot of fun for the first time with the cosy seats, large screen and music...hope to get back soon :)

I was there last Sat. about 1am and the place was packed. It's always busy but this was crazy. You literally could not move in the bar area at all! The staff need to control the amount of people by the bar. Other than that, it's a nice change from the rest of King West..just needs to be bigger!

I had a lot of fun my first & only time. I try and visit Toronto often, and I like this place. It offers, sit down//stand up//and dance. The music was good too, which is certainly a key ingredient for me. I had a great time & hope to go back someday .. maybe even pick up a one of the cute staff members? :)

Still the best bar on King Street.

I've heard the hype, even read the reviews, but just recently discovered 2 Cats for myself. It's all true!! The non-pretentcious crowd that gravitates to it, ecclectic tunes that give it life, it is warm and cozy yet still stirs up some crazy laid-back fun! You couldn't ask for a friendlier staff and why would you wanna "lose the bouncer"??? Never met a more pleasant doorman, and he's HOT ladies! My friends and I will surely return.
