he brand new Stampede Casino is not only clad with money-hungry players, but actual hungry ones too. Stampede is a suiting name for the Calgary locale since that is also the name of the city's most famous events. One of their also brand-new restaurants is called 1912, which was the year of the first stampede. The lounge bar-cum-restaurant offers a classy, elegant bistro atmosphere for both frivolous gamblers and strategic poke players who had a good day to take a moment to soak in the glory of their winnings by indulging on one of 1912's three steaks, five salads, six appetizers or various burgers, from regular beef in a bun to halibut or prime rib, surrounded by warm, mustard walls, dark brown wood furnishings surrounding the marble-top u-shaped bar and landscape paintings on the wall. There's no better way to celebrate your luck in the cards than by putting good food in your stomach. – M.K.
