he location of 1055 Yonge Street has been plagued with failed restaurants for ages. The newest endeavor at this locale, Plakutta, is trying to break the curse. Under new management, an interior redo, new menu and signage, this restaurant has clearly attempted to leave its former incarnation in the dust.

A range of menu items exist at this self-professed "continental-fusion" restaurant. From curried chicken with basmati rice, to penne arrabiata with sausage, to Austrian onion steak, I'm not so sure that this is fusion cooking; and it is only continental in that it takes varying dishes from different continents and puts them on one menu. If the restaurant doesn't suffer from a lack of identity, and instead creates strong dishes, then it will find guests who enjoy its eclectic range.
