Kicking a Dead Horse :: Jun. 17 - Jul 14
  here’s a song on the radio these days that’s very popular with the youth generation of the southern United States called, “Save a horse, ride a cowboy.” With its raunchy sexual undertones and its absence of class of any kind, the generation’s mantra is one of those things you wish you forget you ever came across. With their affinity for Levi’s and Stetson’s Sam Shepard’s new play, “Kicking a Dead Horse,” probably won’t go over well with the horse saviors. Luckily, the play is making its U.S. debut in the Big Apple where there isn’t a horse to be seen for miles around.
In the play a capitalizing art dealer goes on a soul search to the American West when his horse dies on him. Expect lots of clever metaphors and contemplative double entendres. -J.T.
