  on Iver means good winter in French and is spelled wrong on purpose. This guy went to the woods to live in a cabin in the freezing snow and while he was up there, decided he should make some music. So that's what he did. All winter he would chop wood, boil his kettle and record songs. Now once again joining society, he's decided on the rock star life instead of the simple life.
