s it me, or does free music always sound extra sweet? The Seaport Music Festival kicks off their totally free fest with 70's punk legends, Wire on May 30. These guys started of during a revolutionary time in the UK punk scene, yet they strayed from the mainstream with their art-school style. From R.E.M. to The Cure, Wire's influence has been immense over the past 30 years.
The festival starts up again June 27 and continues on every Friday night until the end of August for a head-bobbing good time with artists such as No Age, Dirty Projectors, King Khan & the Shrines, and Atlas Sound rocking the stage. – M.K.
Admission is free
South Street Seaport, Port 17 stage, 219 Water Street, New York, NY.
