NYC Galleries
The Pictures Generation refers both to this show, to an earlier show in 1977 at Artists Space, and to a group of tightly-knit artists whose main commonality is an interest in images from consumer culture, and an appropriation of these images for their own work. The show consists of 160 works of all media by 30 artists. Artists include Eric Bogosian, Richard Prince, and Cindy Sherman, among many others. The suggested admission fee for the Met is $20. The Metropolitan Museum of Art, 1000 Fifth Avenue (at 82nd Street) New York, NY
