That swing-guard on your men's league basketball team is amazing. He's thick enough to guard power forwards but quick enough to help defend on the point. His jump-shot is butter everywhere on the floor, he moves swiftly without the ball, and his court IQ is innumerable. However, it's just men's league. In the denim world, he'd be a pair of Nudie Jeans: he's the best of what's readily available, but he wouldn't cut it in the elite league. In this shambolic parable, Blue in Green is the NBA.

This stellar SoHo boutique gives satiety to jean-fetishists. Many of the brands available are impossible to find anywhere else in the country. Represented labels include Samurai, Paul Smith Red, Sugar Cane, Fullcount, and Eternal. If these are unfamiliar, then you're not yet a jean aficionado; not to worry, BIG is here to help.

The unfailingly knowledgeable staff will ease you into a new denim universe. Unlike the jeans you're used to, BIG selections, like Animal Collective records, will require patience, but the payoff is huge. Similar to Carhartt work pants, this denim begins stiff; you have to work it in. Once you have, you'll own something that's unique and strong as well as unfalteringly cool.

Because of their scarceness, labels sold at BIG don't come cheap. Expect to spend at least $200. However, that's far from exorbitant considering the uniqueness of these jeans.
