Wednesday is hump day, and this hump happens to be large and in charge. Man oh man, it seems like a lot of front men from bands are breaking off and going solo these days, what with Julian Casablancas, Kyp Malone, and now we have Julian Plenti, also known as Paul Julian Banks, formerly of Interpol. This year Julian Plenti broke off and released the album Julian Plenti is…Skyscraper which was released on August 4th 2009 to a mostly warm reception. What other fruit will this solo effort bare? Who knows at this point, I guess that we will have to go and see him to find out. Julian Plenti will be performing live at the Brooklyn Bowl tonight. (Wednesday, November 25). Julian Plenti and more here.

In other news, I'm wondering if Deadmau5 found his head yet? During a recent trip, one of Deadmau5's giant mau5 heads went 'vamoose'! Enough about lost heads. You'll flip your lid when his style hits you with those accentuated keys, rolling baselines and funky beats. Who knew a dead mouse could be an inspiration? Deadmau5 aka Joel Zimmermans' DJ name comes from an incident where a mouse crawled into his computer and died. Gross!!Deadmau5 will be playing at Terminal 5 tonight. Other cool things to do in New York here.

Those Cowpunk hoodlums the Meat Puppets are back from the 1980’s, and it appears at least that they would like to be kicking ass and taking names. Honestly though, I’m sure they are just trying to make a quick buck or two, since all of these other bands from the 80’s seem to be making a come back of some sort these days. Well maybe that was unfair of me, it’s just that I have trouble remember what makes you cool these days; being relevant, or irrelevant. Can someone help me out with that please? The Meat Puppets will be playing at the Bowery Ballroom this evening. Check out this and more here.

What a mighty hump this day has wouldn’t you agree? For a Wednesday evening, I would say that things seem to be shaping up rather well, with stuff for almost everyone to do, weather you’re an electronica junkie, indie rock lover, or anything in between. So what are you waiting for? Scoot! The big bright city is waiting for you to paint it red.
