Whistlen’ Dixie’s Texas Tavern (whew, that’s a mouthful) is a great country pub/bar for the younger folk looking to get rowdy and out-of-control. Business types, back away as fast as you can- this is not your cuppa tea.

The best part of Dixie’s is the constant specials on drinks. Monday offers $3 cosmos, mixed drinks, and BJ shots. In case you’re wondering what the shot is, a BJ is Baileys, a little bit of amaretto, and topped with whipped cream. You have to take the shot with only your mouth sealed around the shot glass- I’m sure you can figure the acronym out yourself. On Tuesdays, they offer live country music and $2 drafts/apps. The list goes on and on, so you’re basically set whatever day you go in.
If your bestest friend in the whole world is having a birthday, evening party packages are the way to go. For $25, you can get unlimited drafts, bottles, and wine. This is obviously a good bet for those bottomless pit university boys- they probably would drink more than $25 a night anyhow. Dixie’s is just trying to save you money!
This is really a great Western bar for the youngin’s looking for a fun night out. While it may not scream class, do 20-something drinkers care? Definitely not- and if you do care, suck it up. You’re not Paris Hilton.
