Whenever you think of a Mermaid, you think of magic thanks to Disney, of course (or Daryl Hannah). Accordingly, you will get just that with a wine list where every bottle is under $15, and complimentary desserts from the chef. Intrigued?

This fish house from 96th Second Avenue has expanded to a new location at 568 Amsterdam Avenue. Owner Danny Abrams must be doing pretty well for himself to open another location- which patrons will attest to. The simply white walls and sea charts on the walls make you feel like you’re in a little fishing village in Vancouver.
The resto offers your basic seafood menu, such as oysters, littleneck clams ($7), shrimp cocktail ($10), and a raw bar sampler with various smelly things to taste. Entrees vary from Double Cut Pork Chop ($20), Lobster Sandwich ($24), or grilled mahi mahi ($22).
The venue has a distinctly New England feel (you can almost smell the sea air), if not for the abundance of clams, oysters and mussels on the menu. If you can’t make it to Martha’s in the Hamptons, this does nicely.
