A restaurant that combines the best of both worlds (as in food and books), Library is a spacious den littered with plush furnishings that beg you to sit down and grab a book. You may quickly forget that you're actually here for dinner with rows and rows of books that beg your attention.
The old-world feel of this library is enhanced by the dark wood accents around the room and dated prints of the city that adorn the walls. I imagine its cozy setting is a real draw in the midst of a New York winter. Cream colored ceilings prevent the space from becoming too much like a library and the room is littered with odds and ends from decades past as well as bowls of M&M for your nibbling pleasure.
The menu is short, sweet and steep with headliners such as mustard-glazed wild salmon taking the stage before a soon-to-be-famous cheesecake with raspberries and vanilla.
The crowd consists primarily of well-heeled out-of-towners and affluent New Yorkers posing as tourists. Leave the kids at home.
