idden behind three shiny black garage doors is a dimly-lit, slightly-cavernous bar that serves up high-end cocktails and unique snack foods. Okay, so replace “slightly cavernous” with “dungeon-esque” and now things are a bit more accurate. It’s definitely a throwback to the days of Prohibition and despite the lackluster lighting, the interior is sultry and lush. Dark wood fixtures and a sexy bar (yes, a bar can be sexy) are perfect to saddle up to. The mixologist here is Charlotte Voisey, who previously worked at the Gramercy Park Hotel and the Dorchester in London (nice resume). Libations include the Snow Mosquito (comprised of vodka, tequila, raspberries, syrup, blueberries, and fresh mint), $50 shots of Pappy Van Winkle and cocktails with a 150-year-old Grand Marnier backbone, which start off at $20. Dark it may be, low-end it isn’t. Drink up. –D.C.
