Personally, I enjoy a full pint, but if it’s a Guinness, I must say that a half will more than do (though I’m sure many Guinness fans would beg to differ).

Whatever your poison be, the latest member to a family of beer bars expanding over Manhattan (joining siblings Stout, Maggie’s Place & St. Andrews) has over 70 brands of brew in the bottle, with quite a beautiful selection on tap. The menu excels beyond the traditional pub fare and if there weren’t such an emphasis on the beer, it would be more than gastropub worthy.
Kilmat’s “munchies” include mini chicken burgers ($6.95), cheese curds, buttermilk chicken fingers, summer sausage, and much more. The menu also includes bar pies (pizza, you dummie), salads, flat top burgers, steaks, and sandwiches. Although the menu isn’t extensive, the offerings are quality rather than quantity. Which means you’ll be getting a delicious meal along with a pint of beer- oh wait, a half pint.
Personally, if I opened a bar I’d call it the Yard. If you’ve ever had a yard of beer, you know what I’m talking about. You can’t drink it with one hand, and near the end, you can’t even drink it with two. I think it’s better than a half pint- why would you ever order one?!
