fter blending their black and white Labrador retrievers to create The Grey Dog moniker, the tiny coffee shop has enjoyed much success in their Greenwich Village haunt. So much success that they will be opening a second Grey Dog (via the science of cloning no doubt) where they will unleash their breakfast, salad, sandwich and coffee menu to unsuspecting East Village appetites.

My suggestion is to embrace independent coffee shops before we become completely overrun by Starbucks. The stores’ English décor and warmth entices you to stay a little longer. Although it’s mainly thought of as a coffee shop, local who frequent Grey Dog know that their food is worth a trip down here. They offer eggs made in almost any style, pancakes, salads, and even burgers. If you’re starving, try a Michigan Sandwich. They have so many different options, I suggest bringing friends so you can taste theirs as well.
If you’re too hung-over from last night’s partying to get out of bed, Grey Dog will deliver right to your door. That way, you can sit in bed while eating your giant roast turkey sandwich. Just don’t throw it up later- it would be such a waste of deliciousness.
