he Bourgeois Pig has up and moved its location to a larger (and much nicer) location across the street. This wine bar is an interesting twist on the restaurant industry, as they only serve wine, cheese, chocolate, espresso, and champagne.

By day, the restaurant is like a “Friends” style coffee bar, with plush chairs to lounge in- the perfect setting for some day-time gossip. By night, the restaurant turns into a wine bar for schmoozing and relaxing after a long day of work. Make sure you don’t go when you’re dying of hunger- The Pig only offers smaller snack-sized food.
Although many people would testify that they do not serve meals, I beg to differ. I could live off of cheese fondue and appetizer-like food. The Pig offers cheese boards, serving various kinds of cheese with side apps to help cleanse the palate. A selection of 10 cheeses served with pesto, Dijon, kalamata olive tapenade, fruits, tomatoes, artichokes and bread goes for $20. They also serve bruschetta ($10), home fries ($8), and rich fondues. Five Italian cheese white wine fondue with spices is only $17- in fact, all of their menu items are affordable and original.
For dessert, try one of their sweet fondues served with fruits and cakes. The white chocolate raspberry fondue ($16) is calling my name. They also serve a variety of hot drinks- but more importantly, let’s get to the wine selection. The Pig has no shortage of selection, offering anything from $60 Pinot Noir to $18 Chardonnay.
The Pig is a good idea if you’re looking for somewhere new to go and chat over cheese and wine. They even offer half price bottles of wine on Monday and Tuesday. Not that you really need another reason to get out of the house to sip wine and nibble on cheese- such a great mixture.
