Review by Ellen Jakobsmeier |
he pre theatre crowd haunts Sugiyama with their eternal presence, demanding a delicious meal that’ll have them out the door just before the curtains go up. This resto has responded with menus crafted especially for these diners, also including a post performance menu for those famished following their night’s entertainment.
The Japanese menu relies traditional and inventive seafood dishes including the usual sashimi plate and an exotic boiled octopus. For dessert, grape fruit wine jelly with cream has been created to match perfectly to the textures and flavours you palate has experienced during the kaiseki meal. Those who like to linger longer during dinner can opt for the six or eight course kaiseki menu, with or without Wagyu, as each course has been carefully prepared to perfectly complement the following dish. If you can appreciate the simplicity and flavor of inspired Japanese dishes (and your stomach can appreciate raw seafood), then try Sugiyama for a unique dining experience.
