Review by Lauren Denhartog |
he owners of Subtletea opted for a neighborhood- coffee-joint-feel with a stylish European twist. What they got from architects Anurag Nema and Orit Kaufman were a hefty shared table (with ipod and cellphone charger of course), antique barn wood and a marble floor. The result is a fresh and inviting space that is comfortable and doesn't make you want to take your tea and run, but rather, sit for a while and take in the furturistically-lit ceiling.
Offering up over 45 types of tea, the menu is divided into three categories, "Morning Tea," "Afternoon Tea," and "Evening Tea." Some of the more interesting blends include chocolate chai Rooibos, almond cookies green tea and cinnamon chai but I'm a dessert tea gal myself. Cookies, sandwiches and pastries are delivered fresh daily. The store also carries several lines of beauty products all derived from the magical leaf.
