You can probably find Al Gore dining at Savoy, a restaurant that values buying locally and cooking with seasonal ingredients. Before the former U.S vice-president got the world to wake up and smell the garbage, cultivating a massive green-wave, Savoy owner, Peter Hoffman and his wife, Susan Rosenfeld, were already on their toes in 2004 to open this fully organic, casual and chic boite that harnesses contemporary country cooking.

Being an activist and chef has garnered Hoffman many accolades in supporting and advocating for sustainable food choices and buying and building relations with local farmers. Sometimes the most delicious food can literally be found in your own backyard. Hopefully these efforts are strong enough to deter patrons from the golden arches of Ronald McDonald –A.C.
