he East Coast outpost of the West Coast popular sushi joint has finally opened to much fanfare in the New York raw fish dining scene. With the explicit “omakase” disclaimer on the door to “trust the chef”, you know you are in good hands here. A wooden sushi bar with the occasional orchid creates a simple vibe where the focus is obviously on the fish. Scrumptious snapper and succulent butterfish are immaculately prepared for speedy consumption. Of course sake is essential to complement the delicious feast of fish so be sure to budget for that too. If you still have room following the main course, savory sweet desserts are also excellent.
