After twenty years in the NYC resto scene that has seen chef Sandro Fioriti wander from kitchen to kitchen with at least one eponymous restaurant opening per decade, this is his third self-titled restaurant to open in the Big Apple. Perhaps we can attribute this nomadic life in the biz to a natural Roman desire to conquer (the resto scene or course), however it appears this Sandro’s is here to stay. The Italian menu relies heavily on Fioriti’s Roman upbringing with recipes that could equally be served at home with Nona or a trattoria in Italy’s capital city. Late night diners will be easily enticed with free pasta after 12:00am or those fresh-from-the-oven cornetti smeared with Nutella.
