s far as ritzy bars goes, this one is the shit (and I rarely swear). I don’t think it’s a coincidence that the bar is located in the Dream Hotel on 55th Street- it makes it that much easier to tell people where you are while drunk. You could just slur “Fifty Five” and your friends would either know to go to 55th Street or Rm. Fifty5. The way I see it, it’s an alcoholic’s dream.

French provencal is combined with a modern touch, and it’s one elegant combination. The bar features a glass top with patterned wallpaper behind the plentiful display of alcohol. The seats are all upholstered in different material, such as leopard print. All are cushy and guaranteed to have you sinking into the furniture. The chandeliers are a whole other spectacle- the Venetian glass in all colors will have you mesmerized.
The drink menu features many special cococtions, such as “Crimson Sunset” or a “Vinotini.” Rm. Fifty5 has a cocktail list with 12 signature drinks to have you as tipsy as possible. For example, try the Gin and Sin- it combines Plymouth Gin, lemon, and lime juices with Chambord. Could be some trouble.
If you’re looking to chat with NYC visitors, hit up the entrance by the lobby door. Hotel guests tend to congregate in flocks near these doors, so go ahead and make some friends with your false sense of confidence. One of the most important and special features: the bar staff sets out bowls of goldfish crackers. These little buddies are so underrated, and taste absolutely scrumptious. So nibble, sip, or chug away at your delicious concoction.
