Review by Scott Tavener |
n argentine restaurant in Soho, che? Novecento, a heavy-on-the-wood Soho joint combines a dash of French bistro with an Argentine menu to create an at-once elegant and exotic experience. Hector Rolotti's New York version (others include Miami and Argentina) opened its doors in 1991 before extensive renovation in 1994. Since inception it has drawn hordes of regulars with its laid-back ambiance and Argentine, mostly-meat menu. Signature dishes include Atun a la Sarten (pan-seared tuna), Ojo de Bife (steakfrites), and Stracetti (filet mignon). -S.T.
