hough I understand that this resto’s moniker is a short version of the green avocado dip that so many North Americans know and love, I can’t help but conjure images from Austin Powers’ infamous mole scene that is forever entrenched in my visual memory.
Appropriately, after dining at this fantastic Mexican restaurant, it is quite possible that this Molé will also be ingrained within the depths of your membrane. Tacos, tortillas, and quesadillas (Mexico City style) are familiar staples on the menu, however the Cochinita Pibil – a traditional Yucatan platter with shredded pork wrapped and baked in banana leaves – is a surprisingly succulent addition to the traditional beans and salsa fare. The Parrillada is also a unique dish that serves three varieties of meat (steak, chicken, chorizo and pork) on a mixed grill, served with rice, tortillas and cactus (sans spikes of course). Add a heavy dose of guacamole and anti-flatulence pill just in case.
