Review by Ellen Jakobsmeier |
hef Masa is no novice to the sushi scene. With over twenty five years in the resto biz, and a twenty year career in LA, Masa has opened to present a harmonious Japanese dining experience, combining the ideas of shibui (simplicity) and umami (the essence of flavor) for the New York dining scene.

The décor also reflects this theme, with a beautiful pond and bamboo garden that compliments the Japanese Hinoki cypress wood stage that is set for the sushi performance. If you can afford it, Masa encourages you to try the Prix-Fixe menu where you will experience a variety of exotic seafood flown in directly from Japan. This is a once in a lifetime experience for sushi aficionados who really know their raw fish. Expect miracles for this price.
