The infamous 'Maoz Sandwich,' which launched the Dutch chain of vegetarian restaurants into stardom is really nothing more than a falafel sandwich with your choice of vegetables and sauces. A simple concept, yes, but one that the Dutch were willing to embrace wholeheartedly. Maybe stroopwaffles, black licorice and cheese weren't part of a healthy diet?

Maoz's mantra is to serve healthy vegetarian fare quickly and at a fair price and they do just that (except for the French fries). Their menu is short and sweet but offers enough sandwich-type variety to satisfy just about anyone. Smakelijk eten! (Enjoy the meal)
