fter peering at two chili grinders (Los Dos Molinos) that were passed on by great grandmothers, Chef Victoria Chavez started to create her menu--spicy, New Mexican cuisine. Based in Phoenix, this eatery could probably bring Southwestern chef, Bobby Flay into tears. Be prepared because everything here is HOT!
We are talking about authentic New Mexican green chilies that are so hot, they can probably cure a cold. Chavez, a 74 year-old pint-size grandmother, says she does not know how to cook mild but offers some non-spicy items for the sensitive palates. This family-run restaurant does not have line cooks so you can expect every dish to be cooked by the chef herself, husband Eddie or one of their three daughters. –A.C
